What Am I Thankful For #WhatAmIThankfulFor

    ,

    #WhatAmIThankfulFor

It is very easy to go through life and forget what’s truly important forgetting the moments and people that have shaped us and inspired us along the way. To go through life forgetting that we live in a place where we are free and have the freedom to speak and write how we choose. It’s easy to forget to live in the moments and remember the moments and to truly be grateful and thankful.

The question, “What Am I Thankful For” was asked to my hubs at a public speaking workshop he attended for work a few months ago. He had to answer the question in his speech in 60 seconds. After the workshop, he asked if he could guest post on Thank You Honey. He had never expressed an interest or asked to post anything before. I was instantly completely interested. Asking  all kinds of questions, what kind of post, was it a humorous story, or what.

Later that day, he emailed me his post and I was inspired by what I read. I didn’t post it right away because we were in the midst of moving (Swing by and check out his post that inspired me tomorrow). I held onto it and over the months something resonated with me and inspired me to do some research on being thankful and gratitude.

I was inspired to ask the question to myself and Little Dude (swing by this weekend to see his response). I was inspired to keep asking the question and keep listening to the answers.

I asked myself, What Am I Thankful For…

I’m thankful for my life and the life I’m able to live. To live in a country where I can write and live free.

I’m thankful for all the moments in my life that have shaped me and inspired me to be who I am today.

I’m thankful for my health, my family, my friends, my dogs and everyone who has come in and out of my life. I’m thankful to feel love and give love.

I’m thankful for all the little and big moments and experiences in my life.

I’m thankful my parents were able to give me opportunities as a child and a college education. I’m thankful I was able to see the sense of prided shine across their faces as I receive my diploma at graduation. I’m thankful for that my parents can be a part of Little Dude’s life and I’m thankful for our relationship.

I’m thankful I found my best friend and the love of my life, and that I am able to wake up and see his smile, feel his love,  and show him love every day. I’m thankful for the opportunities he provides for our family and the consistent support for all my adventures & wild ideas.

I’m thankful for the first moment I held my son and looked in his eyes. I’m thankful he made me a mother and us a family. I’m thankful every day for him and all the joy he brings to my life and our families.

I’m thankful for my career as a writer, my readers, and the different opportunities that come through my inbox.

I’m thankful I can openly ask this question and I’m thankful I can listen to the response.

I want to hear it. I want you to ask yourself this question: What Am I Thankful For.

I want you to improve your health and feel all the benefits of practicing an attitude of thankful and grateful.

What am I thankful for? Unscripted, on the spot, and only 60 seconds to say.  Raw emotional and powerful.

Now I’m asking you to ask yourself the question. What am I thankful for?

Please join in by answering this question and asking your family.

Write it, video it, show a picture. PLEASE use the hashtag #WhatAmIThankfulFor

Thanks for linking up. This is such a wonderful blog hop. It has only been about a half year that I have been sharing my TTOT each week, but I’ve always known the benefits of being thankful and expressing it. My husband hasn’t offered to write a post, but he checks in daily to see what I’m writing on my blog. Hope to see you here again.

I am the often late to the party host, but I’m with the others. If you do this for a while, you will absolutely find the list from Utah to be true.

Welcome to the TToT! As anyone who has done this thankful blog hop for any length of time would say, the benefits you mentioned are true! Focusing on the positives in one’s life makes one’s life better.
I think I would faint if my husband asked to guest post on the blog.
I so enjoy hearing spouses talk about how much they love each other. It’s clear you adore yours.

I guess I’m not surprised to learn all those real benefits to living a grateful life. Since I’ve been participating in the Ten Things of Thankful blog hop, I’ve taken the time at least once a week, to reflect on all that I’m thankful for each week. Living with gratitude in my heart has made me a happier person.

Family and the freedom to write openly are two of the best things for which to be thankful and grateful. Always glad to see more writers linking up for Ten Things of Thankful.

Hehe you’re welcome. I LOVE hopping around different thankful posts and seeing what’s been going on in people’s lives that’s working out just really really well. Yours is beautifully family-oriented, and that’s lovely 🙂 YAY for your husband being put on the spot, and you getting inspired.

Hey Sarah! I’m one of the (often slacker) co-hosts for a link-up called 10 Things of Thankful, hosted by Lizzi Rogers of Considerings. Thought you may like to link up! Here’s this weeks (I haven’t done one yet because like I said – SLACKER and I just posted Finish the Sentence last night). https://summat2thinkon.wordpress.com/2015/11/13/ten-things-of-thankful-126-cheating/

I love that your husband asked to do a guest post and look forward to reading what he came up with!

      Great question! You’ve inspired me
to do a thankful tree or something . I think my whole house could use a reminder to think about our blessings more often.
