Some of the best things in life are amazing friends! Little dude & I went to visit some friends in Indy. You never know how traveling with a 2 1/2 year old will go and traveling without daddy. For that extra set of hands. But had to say my busy little dude was stellar! It also makes it easier when you’re visiting friends with kids too! Most cases they will have everything you need. Especially if they are similar ages.

Have to say an amazing time was had by all. We visited our fantastic friends who have a little lady 5 days younger then little dude. The kiddos have known each other since they were 3 months old. They really have a special bond that I hope will last a life time. It the kind that strangers stop to watch and takes my breath away as you watch the excitement in their little faces when they first see each other. At the airport when they first spotted each other they started running to each other to give the biggest hug. It almost knocks them down. So sweet!

Some helpful tips for traveling with kids any age. Be prepare! As Scar from Lion King sang about!! So important! Remember you are flying somewhere and then in most cases, flying back too. Have enough items!!!

Some tips for any age:

Fly close to nap time- you never know if they will fall asleep.
Book flight times mid- day. Typically early flights and late flight are more booked.
Find empty gate & let your child move, run, climb, & explore
Make sure they eat at home or at hotel. Don’t expect kiddos to sit and eat at the airport before getting on a plane and then sit the whole flight.
Check car seat with the bags
Bring an umbrella stroller to check at the gate

On the plane…
Bring snacks & special treat (lollipops, gummies, etc.) to eat on the plane or if it is during a meal time bring the meal with you
Have tons of activities on the plane- it will be different depending on age but have a few “new” items
You control the activities. Pull out one item at a time, or let them choose between 2 items, then when that item gets old pull out something else
Download a new movie or show to watch on the flight or download a new game
Board the flight early when they allow families with small children to board. Let them walk onto to plane, explore the row you’ll be sitting in, play with the tray table & open up the window shade, look out the window, etc.
If child has a special blanket, pacifier, stuffed toy etc. bring it on the flight.

Happy Trails!!
