Yummy, Yummy! My husbands all time, hands down favorite dessert. Can you guess what today’s 12 days of Christmas countdown project is?? You guessed it! I made a New York Cheese Cake. It is a bit of a commitment but it is well worth the hard work and time.

This recipe has been modified from a Philadelphia Cream Cheese recipe that I got it from a friend. I’ve only made it a few times but it is really awesome. I’ve got creative with how I serve it; sometimes plain, sometimes with fresh strawberries on top, and sometimes with fresh blueberries. Since this is the holiday season and this will be our Christmas Eve dessert. I choose a festive topping, caramel sauce and crushed red and green M & M’s.

What you need:

1 – 9 inch springform pan
15 graham crackers, crushed
2 tbsp butter, melted
4 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, (I use Philadelphia Brand)
1 1/2 cups white sugar
3/4 cup milk
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup M & M’s, crushed
1/2 cup caramel sauce

How to:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Grease a 9 inch springform pan.
Crush graham crackers
Melt butter
Mix in a bowl crushed graham cracker crumbs with melted butter.
Press mixture onto bottom of springform pan. (I use the bottom of a cup to press it down).
Mix in a bowl cream cheese with sugar until smooth.
Blend in milk, and then mix in the eggs one at a time, mixing just enough to incorporate.
Mix in sour cream, vanilla and flour until smooth.
Pour filling into prepared crust.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.

Turn the oven off, and let cake cool in oven with the door closed for 5 to 6 hours; this prevents cracking. (Mine cracked in the center! Good thing I could cover it up!)
Chill in refrigerator overnight
Add toppings of your choice. (I added 1/2 cup of pre-made store bought caramel sauce and M & M’s)
Crushed 1 cup of red and green M & M candies
Sprinkle M & M’s on top of the cheesecake for a festive Christmas Eve Cheesecake!

Enjoy!!
