It’s almost Groundhog Day! And Punxsutawney Phil is getting ready for his big day! According to legend, Punxsutawney Phil will emerge from his burrow on Groundhog Day. If it is cloudy when Punxsutawney Phil comes out if his burrow, then spring will come early; if it is sunny, Punxsutawney Phil will supposedly see his shadow and go back into his burrow, and the winter will continue for six more weeks.
I can honestly say that, I’ve never cared about if Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow or not when we lived in Florida. But now as an Northern living in Philly. I can honest say, that I can not wait till Groundhog Day! I’m counting down the days! I’m begging on bended knee Punxsutawney Phil… please don’t see your shadow! This girl needs an early Spring!
Dear Punxsutawney Phil…I hope you’ve stayed warm in your burrow all winter. You’ve probably been feeling cold & drafty in your burrow. Hopefully, you had some warm blankets, or leaves keeping you warm! I’m sure I don’t have to share with you about the cold & crazy winter we had been having. You’re living it… here in Pennsylvania. Unbelievably record temperatures, snow, and extended durations of deep freeze!
PLEASE DON’T SEE YOUR SHADOW! We can not handle anymore cold & snow! Thank you! I will mail you a lifetime supply of nuts!
