What’s right? What diet or lifestyle should you follow?

So really what is the deal there are a 101 different diets, lifestyles, ways to live, whatever you want to call it! How do you know which is best? And after watching tons of fabulous documentaries I have to say I’m totally confused!

    20130215-191323.jpg Documentaries…
Food Inc.- Focused on Eating organic
Fat Sick & Nearly Dead- About Juicing
Hungry for a Change- About GMO’s
Food Matters- Focused on controlling your health
For the Greater Good- About vaccines
In Search of the Perfect Diet- Focused on Paleo hunter/ gather way of eating
    FDA Food Pyramid

Millions of diets or “lifestyles” Atkins, Zone, South Beach, Vegetarian, Vegan, Raw, Mediterranean, Paleo, Low Carb, Low Fat, Low Cholesterol, High Fiber, Organic, Kosher, juice, lemonade, fasting, etc. They all make claims, some have research & testimonials. They all sound so convincing?

The stats though are simply horrifying! We are failing at something here!! So back to my question… What is right? What diet or lifestyle should you follow? Apparently what people are following currently is not working! Or we wouldn’t be having so many health issues! I want to teach my child from a young age to eat healthy and make good food choices. How do I do that when I’m unsure what is right?

So my solution! Eat the way they did in the olden days! Fresh, local, in season, & organic. Fruits, vegetables, wild caught fish, and free range, grassfed & finished beef. Try to buy from local farms, foods in season, and avoid processed “easy” pre-made foods that are full of carbs. Stick with homemade! Eat in moderation, portion control and exercise. If you can’t grow it or raise it don’t eat it!

    Wish us luck!
