Sweet, Sarcastic, Always Positive Stories for the Hot Messes Holding it Together.

    Sunshine Juice Shot Recipe

    ,

I’ve been obsessed with a few things lately. 1. making juice shots  2. running and 3. getting outside in the sunshine. It’s a bonus if I can run outside! Since I broke my foot it has been a slow start to running again and the Dr.’s said I needed to wait until January to start back up on a running program again. January has come and gone and I’m so excited to be running again.

I have always been a huge fan of juicing. Wheatgrass shots are one of my favorites and I figured why can’t I do the same with other juices?  Instead of making a huge juice, I’ve just been making a shot size worth. It’s less wasteful and it still gives me the power punch of a full-sized juice I love so much! My favorite has been my “Sunshine Juice Shot” recipe. Lemon, lime, ginger and turmeric. The combination of lemon, lime, ginger, & turmeric aids in digestion and it gives you a quick energy boost naturally! The Sunshine Juice Shot is perfect to enjoy after a run, before your morning cup of coffee, or after dinner or large meal. Check it out.

Thank you for such a simple but very interesting recipe, Sarah. I love to experiment and that is why I am looking for various ideas to prepare juice from leafy greens. I think that adding ginger, curcumin, and lemon to my traditional ingredients – spinach and lettuce- will make my beverage amazingly delicious.

I do like the idea of the shot and not an entire glass. I could always use more energy.

This is something I would make, drink and try out to see if and how it worked. Do you have to use fresh ginger or can I use powdered ginger.

Now this sounds like a juice shot that is right up my street and I could definitely do with a bit of sunshine this winter.

I love this idea! I love making things like honey lemon tea, or lemon ginger tea, and this is like the fresh version. Ginger and turmeric are so good for you, I can see how this would be a great healthy boost.

I would give this a try! I keep hearing how great turmeric is but I still haven’t tried it yet. I always can use an energy boost!

That sounds energizing! I wonder, since I don’t have a juicer, if I could juice the fruits and grate the ginger and mix that all together… I might have to try it!

I’ve heard juicing mentioned many times but have not tried it. This combination of spices sounds like it gives a very zippy flavor.
