Motherhood

In my heart you were born, so tiny and so sweet. When I finally met you and held you in my arms, I felt the ground shake, and in that moment, time stood still. I looked in your beautiful blue eyes and kissed your soft sweet cheeks. I knew in that moment that my life was complete and I had a new purpose. I was your “Mama” and you were my “Little Dude”, my sweetest gift, and my very own angel.

He was my “Little Dude” and I was his mama! My little lump of Love… All wrapped up sweet and cozy. With that face and those delicious cheeks that are just so kissable. I thought to myself, “How in the world would I ever put him down”! He was full of sweetness and always so happy!

Little Dude laughed, played and then one day he said it! “Mama, Mama”, over and over. It was the first word my Little Dude said over and over all day long. He sounded like a broken record to everyone else, but to me, that word was music to my ears and heart! Little Dude could have said any word as his first word but HIS first word was “mama”.

I always knew from the first moment I held him when he was so tiny and new that we had a special connection. When he said his first word it was ground shaking similar to that moment when I held him in my arms and looked in his eyes for the very first time.

I knew, in that moment, that exact second, when I heard him say, that simple 2-syllable word, “Mama” that he felt the same special connection to me as I felt to him. And in that moment he was reconfirming it back to me. I knew he loved me but hearing him speak that word for the first time showed me the beauty, the glory, the love of what Motherhood is all about. He is my greatest gift and my treasure.
