Getting ready for Summertime!! Memorial Day marks the true beginning especially in the North. It’s time to celebrate summer with parades, BBQ cookouts, schools out for summer, & wearing white! I remember as a kid looking forward to the Memorial Day Parade, BBQ cookouts, longer weekend & crossing your fingers for good weather. Memorial Day marked getting out your summer cloths, bathing suit shopping, country club pool opening, summer camp, & of course DQ opening for the season. It was always such a special event.
Living in the South, for one the weather is by far warmer and I think that Memorial Day turns into just another weekend with Monday off. You don’t have to worry about taking the storm windows out & putting screens in. Or switching out your closet from winter/ spring to summer! It’s warm all year!
Good, bad, indifferent, weather is going to be weather. With it’s own set of up & downs, pluses or minuses! As much as the weather man/ women tries to predict, Mother Nature has a mind of it’s own!
