During the Fall of my sophomore year in college, my roommate and I came up with a holiday gift giving tradition. Nothing crazy back then. The first year we started it, I gave her a “free manicure” coupon in a holiday card (I’m not sure if gift cards existed back then) and I paid for her manicure next time we went. She paid for my trip to the “fluff & fold”. One of the best gifts because who has time for laundry in college (or ever).
From then on, our holiday gift giving tradition evolved and it has kinda turned into a friendly competition. Who can think of the best gift. It has been a few years since I won. However, I think this is my year. This year, I think I definitely have her beat. I love giving and getting gift baskets. Variety is awesome and it is a good, safe gift because there is bound to be something inside the basket that the person likes.
This year, I have really done it and I think, I know I won (thinking positive). I made a gift basket that I really want keep for myself. However, I can’t do that. I even made some amazing Homemade DIY Salt Scrub (see tutorial below to make your own) to tuck inside the gift basket.
DIY Salt Scrub
What You Need:
½ cup of Coconut oil
1 cup of Coarse Sea Salt
{Optional} Add in a few drops of essential oils. I chose not too because I love the scent of the coconut oil.
How To:
Measure out coconut oil & sea salt.
In a bowl, combine coconut oil (do not melt the coconut oil) and coarse sea salt together.
Once mixed well, transfer into a decorative container.
Clean off the top, screw on lid and add a label.
Happy Gifting!

So many great things you can do with essential oils! I may have to make some of these this year. I need to find some jars – although I love any excuse to go to Michaels 🙂
