Sweet, Sarcastic, Always Positive Stories for the Hot Messes Holding it Together.

    Dear Future Childcare Provider

    ,

Dear Childcare ProviderI have one extraordinary child, who is my life, my world, my everything. You must know this before you start. He is my special baby and you must protect him at all times, meaning, do not take your eyes off of him. He has superpowers like Houdini.

We expect you to come on time when scheduled and please do not cancel an hour before or not show up. Even though you are coming to my home and I am super cool does not mean that you can blow me off. Please don’t, we are not friends. You work for me. We exchange money. I am paying you to do a job. Your place of work is my home so please respect it.

Little Dude demands your constant supervision. YOU are being paid to be attentive, a playmate, fun, high energy, but also a rule follower. We have just about every kind of toy imaginable. Creative play, arts & crafts, games, play-doh, manipulative, dress up, cars, trucks, and outdoor toys. Tons to do. Play, have fun, let your inner child shine through, then help clean up. Do not save it for me to do.

Movies, TV, and electronics are not wanted I’m paying you to do. I could do that. I’m paying you to play and care for my baby. I’ve even made it easy. I’ve left you a one-pager instruction sheet with his favorite things, activities and emergency info (Check out Babysitter Instructions Printable).

Keep him safe and happy. He’s my baby and of course accidents happen. Please try to have your catcher mitts on at all times. Playing on your phone, texting while you are working, or watching rated R movies is just not going to work for us unless Little Dude is sleeping. Having friends over and drinking my wine will not fly either.

He will crash about 7:30pm and after you put him to bed. Go crazy, text away, watch TV, & play your phone. It’s not hard and it’s not like it’s manual labor.

When I arrive home, please be awake and give me a full report on the evening. I’ll pay you and you leave. And always, always say yes to me if I ask you to babysit again. Perfect!

Signed the mom who needs a Childcare Provider!

Haha, this is too great! Finding a great baby sitter is hard, but it is definitely possible. Good luck! Thanks for sharing this letter.

My twins are 4 and it’s just gotten easier to leave them with a babysitter at night. We used to only leave with our parents.

That is awesome you have family close to help. I think it gets easier as they get older and are able to communicate to you! Thanks for stopping by!

LOL! I can’t tell you how many years I just didn’t go out – it was just easier to stay in than find a babysitter! 🙂
