    Corned Beef and Cabbage

    ,

The Simplest Corned Beef and Cabbage Recipe

On St. Patrick’s Day, most Irish American people will make Corned Beef and Cabbage. Did you know that the traditional dish in Ireland is Bacon and Cabbage?

Check out our very American version of Corned Beef and Cabbage! Slow cooked and packed with flavor. It’s one of the simplest recipes ever!

    Corned Beef and Cabbage

    What You Need:

1 ~3-4 pound corned beef brisket

    4-6 carrots

10 mini fingerling potatoes (omit for Paleo)

1/2 of a head of cabbage

    1 large onion

    2 cups water

    1 bay leaf

    How To:

    Peel and chop the carrots.

Cut the onion and fingerling potatoes into large quarters.

Place the corned beef at the bottom of the slow cooker.

    Add vegetables.

    Then add the water.

Set the slow cooker for 8 hours.

The last hour add the cabbage.

Serve with Irish Soda Bread and Enjoy!

I’ve got a new slow cooker on the way and I’m planning to try this dish when I get it. I haven’t had corned beef and cabbage since I was a child but I loved it then and I need to learn to make it myself.

Even though I am Irish I am not a fan of corned beef and cabbage. My mom loves it, though, so I will definitely send this recipe her way.

We like corn beef but I’ve never made it before. I wasn’t even sure how to go about it. You can’t go wrong with a crock pot.

One of our family traditions is a corned beef and cabbage dinner on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s something my great grandmother always prepared and a tradition several of us have kept up for generations. A St. Patrick’s Day must.

I love that this is so simple. I could you something that is easy simple and taste great for St. Patrick’s Day. I rather not be in the kitchen all day cooking. I cannot wait to try this.

My husband has been asking me to make a corned beef dish for him. I made Reubens for him a few days ago and now he wants more. This will be the perfect recipe and I love that it’s cooked in the slow cooker.

I love a good boiled dinner. I haven’t had one in years, but I think this is my year to make one for my family.
